About

Hey, get off my lawn!

Oh, it’s you. Sorry about that. Come on in, take off your shoes, and make yourself at home.

Welcome to Missing the Muse. I am Phoenix Autumn and I will be your tour guide.

What’s this all about?

Dan HogerI created this blog after a long hiatus from writing. Life got in the way, and my inner writer was locked up without an outlet. I felt like I was missing my muse.

The writer in me couldn’t take it anymore. I had to do something.

I had to write.

As the writer within me spread his wings and took flight, I realized that I hadn’t freed just a small part of me. I freed myself completely. The muse was with me all along.

I believe that everyone has a story to tell, whether it’s fiction or nonfiction. By expressing ourselves through writing or other media, we are enriching the world with our individual flavors. I write so that the world is not deprived of my musings, whether they be inspirational, personal, or just for fun.

Nonconformist writings from an eccentric perspective.

I write stories that inspire readers to see things from different perspective than what they are used to. I am on a mission to change the way that people think about the world.

If you like to read off-the-wall opinions that aren’t afraid to burst people’s bubbles, then my writing might be for you. If you are looking for something mainstream, then you probably should have taken a left turn at Albuquerque.

My writing includes poetry, haikus, short stories, screenplays, and whatever else the muse inspires me to create.

I am working on my first novel, a sci-fi/fantasy fusion that will take you on a wild ride through the best of both worlds.

Thank you for checking out my blog. I hope you enjoy what I write. If you do, please follow, like, comment, and share.

      • Hi, Dan! I saw that you visited Biker Babe Tours, too. Thank you so much for hitting both of my gigs. You’re awesome. Your story here about moving to LA and living in a very-small studio and living the dream just makes me smile so huge. You did what so few people actually do. You jumped in and pursued your dreams. Total props to you, brother. Not only am I a now a follower of yours, but an admirer. 🙂

      • Awesome! Well thank you very much. When you look back on your life, you will regret the things you didn’t do more than the things that you did. I tend live life that way.

  3. It seems we are in the same type of field of media and writing. I guess we use blogging as our escape to write…I plan on producing a few things this year as well. So being blog buds would be a pretty good look. 🙂 I hope all is well and you are up to something smooth and clever as a project for 2014. 🙂 #salute

  4. Hey Dan! Thanks for the nomination last year. Unfortunately, my year turned into something not quite palatable soon after, and I had to take a break, but I wanted you to know that it was appreciated!

  5. Dan, I suspected someone had to have had a gun at your back when you decided to check out what was in my Attic. I became absolutely certain of it when you decided to follow my blog! Oh well, welcome aboard we’re all mad here. Oh wait, some girl named Carol wrote that, but then this guy named Lewis Carroll borrowed it and made it into a story about a blond girl who meets this rabbit. All I remember about it is the rabbit wore this hat that made a huge fashion statement! Oh I almost forgot, I hope my blog leaves you laughing, but I suspect after this, your regretting you ever came by. :O)
