Last day of National Poetry Writing Month! I had fun, and I hope you did, too. As this month ends and we look toward the future, I ask what the future holds in my final poem for NaPoWriMo this year.

NaPoWriMo

Unknown

NaPoWriMo
Where do I go from here?
I wish my head was clear.
Oh, dear.
Sometimes I fear
I may not make it.
I try to fake it.
This feeling inside,
I mistake it
For something it’s not.
I sit and rot.
Don’t know if I’m
Cold or hot.
I feel old a lot.
Thinking of the past.
Time moves too fast.
I wish it would stop.
Press pause.
Let me catch up.
Figure things out.
Get rid of my doubt.
If I shout,
Would anyone listen?
My tears glisten.
I wipe them away
And face another day.
But days blur together.
Need to pull myself together.
Start moving forward.
Toward…
The unknown?
Mind blown.

  1. I find your NaPoWriMo set here interesting, not just for its content, but also by the way it links together: I came here because I was intrigued by the unusual number of pingbacks. Whether or not this was an intentional device to draw in your audience, my hat’s off to you, sir!
