Short Prayer

13 is my lucky number, so I hope my 13th NaPoWriMo poem brings good luck to myself and those of you who read it! It’s a shorter poem than the others I have written, but I like it. It’s called “Short Prayer” because that’s what it is. Or perhaps it’s a mantra. Either way, I see it as a wish for self-improvement. It could have a different meaning for you, and that is perfectly fine!

NaPoWriMo

Short Prayer

NaPoWriMo
Let the light shine in,
Please let it reach me.
Let the right words win,
Please let them preach me.
Let my fight subside,
Don’t let it breach me.
Let me write my side,
Don’t let them leech me.
Let my plight be through,
Please let it teach me.
Let my sight be true,
Please let it bleach me.
