For Richer, But Not Poorer

This is my 9th poem for NaPoWriMo. I think it’s pretty self-explanatory.

For Richer, But Not Poorer

Stand by my side
When I struggle to start.
When I’m successful,
You can have a part.
Leave me behind
In my moment of need.
You won’t get a cent
To feed your greed.
I may be small change
In this moment of time.
But someday soon,
I’ll be worth every dime.
Support my dreams
While I’m on the go,
And I will let you
Reap what I sow.
Abandon me.
Write me out of your story.
But when things turn around,
You won’t deserve my glory.
