Wasting Away

Ever have one of those days where you just can’t seem to get anything done? You want to be productive, but next thing you know, you look at the clock and the half the day is gone! Ever have one of those weeks? That is exactly what my 8th poem for NaPoWriMo is about. Once I actually got around to writing it, that is. Oh, and the ending is a little weird and random. Perhaps somewhat creepy. I assure you that it was for the sake of the poem, and does not reflect my condition during the time of writing.

Wasting Away

NaPoWriMo
Wasting a day.
Wasting away.
Want to get stuff done,
But my mind is on the run.
Install this, download that.
Hit myself with a baseball bat.
Time flies by
In the blink of an eye.
The day is through.
What did I do?
Tried to be productive,
But my habits are destructive.
It’s easy to sleep in,
If no one greets you with a grin.
I race against time
As I write down this rhyme.
How can I beat the clock,
When I’m stuck against this block?
I used to have motivation,
Along with determination.
Where did they go?
Will I ever really know?
I can’t seem to pick up my feet,
Or move along with the beat.
Stuck in a stasis
On a daily basis.
Not sure where I’m heading toward.
Moving everywhere but forward.
The world moves as it will.
While I am standing still.
I need to budge.
Someone give me a nudge,
In the right direction.
Never mind this erection.
